Karen StubbsKaren Stubbs is a partner and head of the criminal department. She has always worked in the East London having previously been a partner at a Firm in Hackney.
She has represented clients in a wide range of criminal matters including crimes of a serious and violent nature. Most recently she represented one of the defendants in the first non-jury trial in England. This matter is currently proceeding through the higher courts.
Karen has a special interest in working with juveniles and vulnerable clients with mental health issues.
Ryan O Donnell
Ryan graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2008 with LLB Honours.
Ryan joined the criminal team at McMillen Hamilton McCarthy in August 2008 During his time he has assisted solicitors in preparing a wide range of cases.
He has worked on a number of high profile cases including murder cases at the Old Bailey and other cases of serious violence
Ryan is also a fully accredited police station representative and represents clients at the police station for all kinds of offences.
Maddy Fearn
Maddy Fearn is a solicitor at McMillen Hamilton McCarthy. She joined the firm in 2007 as a paralegal, and undertook her Training Contract with the firm.
Ms Fearn has now joined the Criminal Department as a full-time solicitor and carries out work on behalf of clients charged with a wide range of criminal offences. These include violent offences, drug offences, offences of dishonesty and driving offences.
Ms Fearn also has an interest in family law and maintains a small family case-load. She is currently undertaking work in both private and public law Children Act 1989 proceedings. This knowledge assists in preparation of cases where there may be a criminal and family overlap.
Ms Fearn is an accredited police station representative. She has also achieved Stage 1 of the Higher Rights qualification. She undertakes advocacy in the Criminal Magistrates Court and Family Courts and is looking forward to obtaining rights of audience in the Crown Court.
